There are affiliate links in this holiday gift guide, but as always, there is nothing on this list that I don’t personally use and LOVE!
It snowed in Toronto – like REALLY snowed, which means the holidays are here! This holiday gift guide is for the budding HOMEFOODIE in your life, or maybe it’s for you- no judgements here 😉
HOMEFOODIE Holiday Gift Guide
Instant Pot
No holiday gift guide would be worth its salt if it didn’t include an Instant Pot. I use this machine almost daily at work, because it’s 4 machines in one. A slow cooker, a pressure cooker, a rice cooker and a saute pan which means you can cook almost anything in an Instant Pot. Every HOMEFOODIE and home kitchen should have one.
A Great Knife
Honestly, you can have all the bells and whistles, but if you don’t have a good, sharp knife you’re doing it wrong. A good, sharp knife is a long standing kitchen essential- trust me, I cut the tip of my finger off with a dull knife, so I know!
Cast Iron Skillet
You know I LOVE cast iron cooking (evidence here ) because of the amount of flavour that can be built in a cast iron skillet is wild. Cast iron holds and conducts heat amazingly, it can be used both stovetop and in the oven, and I repeat, the flavour you can achieve in cast iron is unmatched. This holiday gift guide wouldn’t be complete without cast iron, because I use cast iron professionally almost daily, and you should use it in your home with the same frequency.
Nescafe Milk Frother
I love a latte, I love a deliciously foamy and creamy morning brew, but for everyone who is averse to spending $6 bucks on a daily latte- like me-, this makes home lattes better than Starbucks. I wanted to include this in my holiday gift guide because having one will save you sooo much money, without having to sacrifice your luxe morning beverage.
Silpats and Beeswax Paper
My holiday gift guide includes these because every eco friendly kitchen (or budding eco friendly kitchen) should have silpats and beeswax paper. They make cooking without mess (silpats in place of parchment paper) and storing food without the use of wasteful kitchen paper and plastic effortless; and with the holidays being a somewhat wasteful time with all the wrapping paper and leftovers that end up in the bin, let’s tip the scales back in Mother Nature’s favour this holiday season.
Apron
As someone who has forever wiped their hands on their clothes, an apron is a necessary element in my kitchen and should be for every home cook. I kid you not, I used to say “why use a napkin when I have a shirt”, and overlooking my nasty childhood proclivities, save your clothes and get a chic apron.
Dyson Motorhead Vacuum
Though this isn’t necessarily a cooking utensil but sweeping a kitchen never seems to get the floor fully clean, and cleanup is one of the reasons people don’t cook, so this gift guide really wouldn’t be complete without the Dyson. I dyson the kitchen everyday, because sweeping doesn’t do anything lol. But crumbs are no match for this compact vacuum. If you really want to treat yourself – or someone special- this holiday season, gift them a Dyson!
The holiday season is about so much more than giving BUT if you are in the giving mood, why not gift one of these items to the budding HOMEFOODIE in your life.
