{RECIPE} Blueberry Smoothie + Coconut Green Juice

I have made no secret of my love of smoothies and juices- I actually started my journey in the culinary wellness by preparing smoothie and juice cleanses for clients; so smoothies, juices and I go WAY back.

I wanted to share these two recipes with you because they're a) delicious b) an exercise in self love from a food perspective.

Seriously though, we have the ability to positively or negatively impact our wellbeing with every bite; so when you drink healthy smoothies and juices you, my dear, are showing yourself some love.

Ok, recipe time. But first, some housekeeping tips...

Smoothies can be blended and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days without the quality being affected

Juices, unless cold pressed, are best consumed right after they've been made; as they will deteriorate quickly once made.

But, it's your beverage, so do what you want!

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen blackberries
  • 1/4 cup tart cherry juice
  • 1 drop lemon essential oil
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 medjool date
  • 1 tsp hemp seeds

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

NOTES: 

  • No lemon essential oil? Use the juice of 1 lemon
  • No dates? Use 2 tsp honey
  • No tart cherry juice? Leave it out
  • Stems of 1 head of kale
  • 2 granny smith apples
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup coconut manna
  • 3 cups of water
  • cheesecloth or nut milk bag

In a blender combine everything, save for the cheesecloth (lol...I have to say it) and blend until combined but not smooth. Strain through 4 layers of cheesecloth. Serve over ice immediately.
